昨日は雨から上手に逃げられたのに、今日は…アンラッキーでした。

コース:

柏崎～新道～R73～中田～R11～長鳥～塚山峠～小国～R171～R403～小白倉～R252道の駅～R403～松代～R253～R353じょんのびジェットコースター～石黒～野田～柏崎 (100キロ、 1440m 登り)

小国まで天気は大丈夫でした。R403で雨降り始め、どんどん強くなりました。小白倉の新しいトンネルから出ると雨から雪になりました！雪国だー！

小白倉はきれいな村です。でも今日は天気が悪く景色があまり見れませんでした。残念でした。

そのままR252の道の駅まで雪でした。“どうしょう、右に曲がって、高柳>柏崎のショートカットをしようかな”と思いました。“でもここまで来たんだから松代の7ー11まで行って、ホットコーヒーを飲もう”と決めました。

松代までのR403はとても面白い道です。おすすめじょんのび！

松代に着いたら晴れになりました。よかった。その後じょんのびジェットコースター逆走しました。石黒から松代へ向かってはよく走りますが、たまにはコースを逆に走ると面白いと思います。両方はきついですね。コンクリートセクションを下って、川を渡って、あの登りは何パーセントあるんでしょうか？20%近くかな！？

野田から柏崎まで風がとても強くて“山の方に行ってよかった”と思いました。

今日の100キロサーキットはなかなか面白いコースですから、興味があるメンバー走ってみてじょんのび！

Yesterday I did a good job in avoiding the rain. Today… I wasn’t so lucky.

Course:

Kashiwazaki～Shindou～R73～Nakata～R11～Nakadori～Tsukayama Pass～Oguni～R171～R403～Koshirakura～R252 michi no eki～R403～Matsudai～R253～R353じょんのびroller coaster～Ishiguro～Nota～Kashiwazaki (100 km、 1440m of climbing)

The weather was fine all the way to Oguni. As I got onto R403 the rain started. It became heavier and heavier. As I exited the new tunnel at Koshirakura, the rain had turned to snow! Snow Country!

Koshirakura is a really pretty little village, so it was a shame that today’s views were spoiled by the weather.

The snow continued to fall as I reached the “michi no eki” on R252. I was thinking “If I do a right here I can make a beeline home to Kashiwazaki via Takayanagi”. But I thought “I’ve come this far so I’ll press on for the 7-11 at Matsudai and a hot coffee”.

From here R403 to Matsudai is a really nice road. I recommend it じょんのび！

By the time I got to Matsudai, the sun had come out. Great! After that I hopped on the “じょんのびrollercoaster in reverse”. I often ride this section of R353 from Ishiguro to Matsudai. Sometimes it’s nice to do it in reverse from Matsudai to Ishiguro. Both ways are hard going! After descending the concrete section and crossing the river, how steep is the climb?! It must be close on 20%?!

From Nota back to Kashiwazaki there was an amazingly strong headwind, so I was glad I opted for the mountains today.

Today’s 100k circuit is a really nice course. If you’re interested, why not give it a try じょんのび！
