easing off
Last week was a hard training week. This week I've been gradually easing off in preparation for this weekend’s Utsukushigahara race.
Today, like yesterday, I was up and out by 5 for 2 hours of training. I took in an easier course:
Kashiwazaki~Nota~Ishiguro~Takayanagi~Honnobi Manju Shop~mountain road~Grape Village~Kashiwazaki (60km、600m of climbing)
I’ll ride easy for the next couple of days and hope to go to the race in good condition.
I’ll do my best じょんのび!

See you in or around Asama Onsen tomorrow Andy! Like you - but on a much lower level (!) - a shortish hillclimb like this is not my favorite parcourse but I just love the friendly local atmosphere there. By the way, you found yourself a nice little GPS I saw... Where should I look for more info on this gadget? It sure looks much neater than the clumsy Garmin Edge I'm using now.
Hi Tom,
I'll actually head down there early on Sunday morning. It's been really hot in Niigata this week, I wonder what it's like in Matsumoto (hopefully a bit cooler due to the altitude)?
If you ever ride with me you'll notice I often have pages torn from map books in my jersey pockets, so it's not my GPS! It's Takano san's. Here is his first blog entry about it:

Mind you, it looks good value to me at 7000 yen!
Hope to see you on Sunday!
Andy
Thanks Andy...you're right, this is great value; I just ordered one! See you on Sunday then!
